2008 Fall Gardening Symposium

  “Fall Into Spring” theme of this year’s Fall Gardening Symposium

 
The 2008 Fall Gardening Symposium, sponsored by the Hall County Master Gardeners and Hall County Extension, will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center near Gainesville.
 
This year’s symposium features four guest speakers: Mike Francis, a local grower of specialty conifers and Japanese maples, will speak on “Southern Conifers for the Shade”; Jim Collins, a noted landscape designer, has the topic of “Landscaping with Native Plants”; Mary Donovan, another noted Atlanta-area landscaper, will be discussing “Remodeling Older Landscapes for the Baby Boomer of Today”; and Tom Goforth, who specializes in raising native ferns, will talk about "A Passion for Native Ferns: Their Beauty, Diversity and Amazing History". To register:  You can download the registration form below and mail  with payment to HCMG or
you can pay online using PayPal (you will need a PayPal account to be able to do this) After you have paid online you can download the word document, save this on your computer, then fill it out and email it back to the address on the form so that we know what kind of meal you need.  Registration fee for the event is $35.00 per person.
 
 
Registration includes refreshments, lunch, a “goodie bag”, and (likely) potential for winning a door prize. Several vendors will also be in attendance selling trees, shrubs, and perennials for Fall planting, as well as gardening tools. The vendors include Tom Goforth and Mike Francis, two of our guest speakers, as well as Howard Brothers Hardware and Elaine Kelley of The Potting Shed Nursery..
